Montefiore Investment was an investor in B&B Hotels from 2005 to 2015, across two successive growth LBOs, as a minority strategic shareholder.
When Montefiore Investment first invested in B&B, the company was a regional player in the low-cost hotel segment, with strong presence in Western France (some 120 hotels), €80 million in sales and annual growth of approximately 2%.
Between 2005 and 2010, alongside Eurazeo and management, Montefiore Investment supported the repositioning of B&B’s offering and brand to build the reference player of “Econochic” hotels in France. External growth gave B&B critical size in France and laid the ground for profitable international development in Germany, allowing the group to reach € 200 million in sales.
Between 2010 and 2015, alongside Carlyle and management, Montefiore Investment further supported the growth acceleration of B&B outside France, notably in Germany, Italy and Spain. The group’s sales now exceed €350 million, 50% of which are generated outside France, and growth accelerated to more than 15% per year.
